Publisher's Description:

Atomic Clock Sync - This freeware Atomic Clock Sync utility can help you keep your local computer up-to-date with the exact current time. This program will reference an atomic clock server to get the current time with the greatest accuracy available and update your PC's information. It can even be set to automatically check the time once a day to keep your PC's time accurate forever.

Atomic Clock Sync will connect to one of the time servers operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States, and will compare the time of your computer with the time on the servers operated by the NIST. This program will then display the difference between your system and the servers and if greater than 15 seconds, it will offer you the option of adjusting your PC by the displayed amount.

The overall uncertainty in this comparison should be no worse than +/- 5 seconds under all circumstances and will be substantially less than this value in most cases.

Version 2.7 removes the 'always on top' setting that caused problems for some users with a message box popping up behind the screen.

Version 2.7.0.3 addresses the start minimized problem with the 2.7 version.

fixes start minimized problem with v2.7

What a nice little app !!

One of my computers at home is an old but faithful Win 95 Cyrix. The CMOS battery (capacitor, more like it!) was dead for some time now, so I wanted a way to adjust its clock easily. So, instead of doing it manually day after day, I searched for and found the Atomic Clock Sync!! And that was it, my fellow travellers, my old computer now has always the correct time; as soon as it pings the Atomic Clock time server (216.200.93.8) through my ADSL router, voila it knows the correct time and date, not 12:05, 01/01/1980... Thanks again WorldTimeServer.com for a job well done!!

REVIEW ATOMIC CLOCK

The program works fine as far as I can tell at this point, one day.

PC time synchronisation

Using Google, I found several freeware downloads available. Atomic Clock Sync 2.7.0.3 was my choice.
I have only used it for 24 hrs but it appears faultless in operation. And it was easy to install.
I rate it 100%

When is now?

The time check is very easy to use and right on the button for
computer time and other time checks.
While I was in the Navy during the Korean war, we used NSS for time
checks for the main ships clocks on the short wave.
One second off in sextant readings is 60 miles. Clocks were checked at
noon every day and we had 3 main ships clocks and a log was kept
for how far they were off of correct time.
NSS was the Washington DC Official USA time.....

Pretty Good

If there was a function to check that servers were working before trying to ping them... that would be good

Excellent

Very reliable way to have an accurate clock.

please automate more!

I like this well enough, but I wish it would start automatically at start-up and that it would synchronize my clock automatically. Right now, I have to manually open the file and tell it to Ping the world clock to adjust my clock. I don't know whether "Auto Synchronize Daily" will accomplish this or not.

I also wish the display would tell me whether my clock is off from the World Clock. In other words, can it display my computer's time and the World Clock's time, so I can see whether they are in sync, without having to ping the clock?

I have no idea what Unadjusted UTC Bias means.

Atomic Clock Sync

Very simple, non-invasive program to insure computer clock is accurate. Used on previous computer to help set not only computer clock, but also all other clocks in house during time change. I have no problem with having to "Ping" the clock from time, in fact I would prefer to do that versus automatically having the software do it.

Can`t beat the price and... it works, too!

Quick, easy, no fuss installation. My PC system is now constantly updated time-wise and certifiably accurate, without effort.

So -So Product

Since you cannot check the clock more than once a day, it did not meet my needs at all. It was nice otherwise, but once a day is poor.

Suggestions

Is there a way to set what time Atomic Clock pings the server each day? The help text says that automatic checking happens once a day but does not say when it happens.

simple but adequate

I just needed a utility to sync my PC to true time. This very simple performs exquisitely and is exactly synced to UTC

Review this product

A great programme I have used for 10 years or so. Most modern interfaces have icons. Works 100% for functionality, which is making sure the clock on my PC is accurate.

Sync capability

After 24 hours use, this program seems to do what it says it will and that is to sync my pc clock to the correct time. Helps to keep my weather station online as my pc clock wants to drift off shutting down my weather station interface and Vista's UAC stops a lot of other programs from time syncing. I do wish you could set it to sync at shorter intervals of down to 1 hour or so, but other than that, no complaints at all.

Fixes network synchronizing problems

I've often had problems getting pcs on networks to update and synchronize readily. The fixes are time consuming and sometimes require more than one attempt. Atomic Clock Sync is quick and effortless to install, fast to integrate and reliable.

I couldn't be happier!

a good basic sync program

We are trying the program short term as a clock regulator for our radio station automation in matching up to the satellite driven network downloads. More frequent auto syncs per day would be helpful - maybe it should be an option to choose every hour, every two hours, etc.. We have noticed if we ping we will sometimes get a response that the clock does not have to be adjusted when, in fact, the program has adjusted the clock by a second or two. At other times, it seems the sync is not as accurate as claimed, being off by a bit when compared to the satellite system used by NPR (which is timed off of the GPS satellites.) Other times it locks dead on. Makes me a little uncomfortable using it long term, but we shall see. The user interface is fine - very simple to install and run.

Did not work

I am using Windows Vista and although this was supposed to work with Vista I cannot tell if it definitively does. The problem I encountered was that although it said that it had altered ny clock by 6 minutes no such update occurred. When I went into the clock pages on Windows i discovered the option to update by Internet time servers. When I attempted to use this there was still no change. It may be something that I am doing wrong but I don't have the time to fiddle to sort it out. If it works for you great, but for me it's a no go.

Just what I have been looking for. The next invention will be a watch automatically synchronized to the GPS time base so adjustments will be a thing of the past. Thanks again.

had to uninstall

Had to uninstall the program, it kept setting my clock like 3 hours ahead of what time it was in my zone. I don't know why, for the time zone was correct, but it did. Sorry would have liked it, but had to always reset the clock anyway.

Failure to download

I have used it on other computers and really like it but can't seem to get it to download to this one with this connection...

Disappointed.

Excellent

I used the atomic clock on a previous computer and liked it a lot. The clock on this computer quit automatically synchronizing, so I remembered "pinging" before and downloaded it again. I like to E-bay and need my clock to be correct for this.

Keep It Simple Stupid

Keep It Simple Stupid, that is the power of this nifty little programme.
I've had it for a while, recently reinstalled my computer and missed it, so downloaded it again.
I'm definitely a fan.
Thanks so much!

Review of atomic clock sync software

I was just searching the net for some information on the atomic clock, and by accident I clicked on the download button in your website. Anyway having downloaded the software, I used it to correct my pc clock, though it is synchronised by windows XP o/s itself.

Thanks for the software

Would not run

After installing, program would not run, Installed on w98 machine. All I got was the spinning hourglass cursor, no sync etc.
Probably something I did wrong, but could not find an answer so uninstalled it.

A little puff of perfection

OK, it's true. I'm a perfectionist. But perfection in our world is nearly impossible to achieve. But Atomic Clock Synch blows a little puff of perfection into my computer every so often, making sure that my fix on the time is as precise on my desktop as it is in the hallowed halls of the world's most advanced laboratories. Thanks!
