Publisher's Description:

Atomic Clock Sync - Atomic Clock Sync can help you optimize how often Windows references an atomic clock server, such as the atomic clock servers operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States. Your current computer time is compared with the current atomic time and an adjustment is made to keep your local computer up-to-date with the exact time now.

Atomic Clock Sync can even help repair the Windows Time Service if your computer is no longer able to check for Internet Time updates as it normally would.

Best of all, you can download and use this utility at no cost to you!

No spyware! No ad banners! No cost! No questions asked! So why do we do give Atomic Clock Sync away as freeware? Simply to encourage you to use and return to World Time for the current times around the world. This tool helps keep your local clock accurate and we have the accurate clocks for everywhere else!

This utility is provided free of charge, so please feel free to share it, redistribute it, and use it any way you wish, provided you do not alter the program in any way.

Version 3.5 requires Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP. It supports 64bit and 32bit versions of Windows. It is an executable file that does not require installation.

Atomic Clock Sync is a configuration tool that helps you change the synchronization settings in Windows. Atomic Clock Sync is not talking direct to a time server, but still allows the Windows time service to do the work itself. Just run Atomic Clock Sync whenever you want to review and change your Sync settings in Windows or when you need to repair the Windows Time Service in Windows.

This file is signed by our company, Chaos Software Group, Inc., so you can make certain it has not been tampered with.

I downloaded ver. as I was trying to update from ver., but something seems to be wrong as my clock keeps showing the time one hour ahead of my local time and I have to ' ping ' all the time to correct my system clock.

Only used once; worked fine once I had found 'synchronise now' (the reason I wanted it). Glad to have it, will use it in the future.

This is an excellent product. I have used it on four different computers, always with complete ease of use and immediate results and accuracy.

Thank you

It didn\'t work, but I\'ll try again after I install Windows 7 in a few weeks. I get the following error message: "an error occurred while Windows was synchronizing." It happens no matter what server I try to connect to.

I think Atomic Clock Sync is just wonderful.
Not just for my computer, but also for my children's PCs.
My youngest daughter's PC had a strange habit: every time it was started up it showed the date and time it was first used. No matter how many times I changed the date/time settings to the current, it kept going back in time.
Now, however, I'm rid of the problem and the PC shows the correct date/time all the time.
Very useful since I set reminders for her in Outlook.
Thank you for this very useful tool!

Andrew Shard 2009-10-05 16:18:01 #

It seems to work fine. When I first loaded it and syncronised it for the first time it put the clock right by 3 minutes and its been right ever since.
Good product.

Eaglejbw 2009-09-28 08:31:37 #

I didn't think it was working, at first, as there is no clue (e.g., an icon at the bottom of the screen) that it is operational. Perhaps it is, but I would suggest some sort of visual indication that it is functioning.

Yfyap 2009-09-22 01:32:43 #

This is good as it works silently in the background and ensures that my pc clock is never off the mark by its daily ping.

Thank you

Angus 2009-06-15 09:32:57 #

Couldn't get it to work...

Got this message when tried:

Sending resync command to local computer...
The computer did not resync because no time data was available.

congrats,it´s a very easy way to synchronize my pc, watch, and everything around the house,i got a question for you: ¿ it´s true that clock of your is with fort collins? on beforehand, thanks.

Lcowlishaw 2009-04-05 19:26:05 #

I found it not as good as a previous version with the "Ping Now" option. However it is ok.

Wattjc 2009-03-27 11:03:11 #

I downloaded because my system clock won't maintain the correct time. ACS seemd like a neat solution to bypass the problem. It is not working. I believe it might be due to the fact that it is necessary to run the executuion file every time I want to acesss the preferences/update--I am guessing it probably is not completely installed. ( or my system clock is so messed up it won't allow the automatic updates) Otherwise it seems like a pretty neat little piece of software.

A little puff of perfection

OK, it's true. I'm a perfectionist. But perfection in our world is nearly impossible to achieve. But Atomic Clock Synch blows a little puff of perfection into my computer every so often, making sure that my fix on the time is as precise on my desktop as it is in the hallowed halls of the world's most advanced laboratories. Thanks!

Would not run

After installing, program would not run, Installed on w98 machine. All I got was the spinning hourglass cursor, no sync etc.
Probably something I did wrong, but could not find an answer so uninstalled it.

Review of atomic clock sync software

I was just searching the net for some information on the atomic clock, and by accident I clicked on the download button in your website. Anyway having downloaded the software, I used it to correct my pc clock, though it is synchronised by windows XP o/s itself.

Thanks for the software

Keep It Simple Stupid

Keep It Simple Stupid, that is the power of this nifty little programme.
I've had it for a while, recently reinstalled my computer and missed it, so downloaded it again.
I'm definitely a fan.
Thanks so much!

I used the atomic clock on a previous computer and liked it a lot. The clock on this computer quit automatically synchronizing, so I remembered "pinging" before and downloaded it again. I like to E-bay and need my clock to be correct for this.

Failure to download

I have used it on other computers and really like it but can't seem to get it to download to this one with this connection...

had to uninstall

Had to uninstall the program, it kept setting my clock like 3 hours ahead of what time it was in my zone. I don't know why, for the time zone was correct, but it did. Sorry would have liked it, but had to always reset the clock anyway.

Home User

Just what I have been looking for. The next invention will be a watch automatically synchronized to the GPS time base so adjustments will be a thing of the past. Thanks again.

steve r 2007-10-11 06:21:23 #

My comment is

I found the this through a search engine and have only one thing to say - Use it - it works!

danthepat 2007-10-10 09:52:46 #

Doesn`t work!

Just hangs when I click 'ping now'??

wakey 2007-10-02 04:30:26 #

Did not work

I am using Windows Vista and although this was supposed to work with Vista I cannot tell if it definitively does. The problem I encountered was that although it said that it had altered ny clock by 6 minutes no such update occurred. When I went into the clock pages on Windows i discovered the option to update by Internet time servers. When I attempted to use this there was still no change. It may be something that I am doing wrong but I don't have the time to fiddle to sort it out. If it works for you great, but for me it's a no go.

KP71105 2007-09-29 13:08:54 #

a good basic sync program

We are trying the program short term as a clock regulator for our radio station automation in matching up to the satellite driven network downloads. More frequent auto syncs per day would be helpful - maybe it should be an option to choose every hour, every two hours, etc.. We have noticed if we ping we will sometimes get a response that the clock does not have to be adjusted when, in fact, the program has adjusted the clock by a second or two. At other times, it seems the sync is not as accurate as claimed, being off by a bit when compared to the satellite system used by NPR (which is timed off of the GPS satellites.) Other times it locks dead on. Makes me a little uncomfortable using it long term, but we shall see. The user interface is fine - very simple to install and run.

Fixes network synchronizing problems

I've often had problems getting pcs on networks to update and synchronize readily. The fixes are time consuming and sometimes require more than one attempt. Atomic Clock Sync is quick and effortless to install, fast to integrate and reliable.

I couldn't be happier!

jmrajaz 2007-09-13 18:44:42 #

Sync capability

After 24 hours use, this program seems to do what it says it will and that is to sync my pc clock to the correct time. Helps to keep my weather station online as my pc clock wants to drift off shutting down my weather station interface and Vista's UAC stops a lot of other programs from time syncing. I do wish you could set it to sync at shorter intervals of down to 1 hour or so, but other than that, no complaints at all.

Nigel Poulton 2007-07-07 06:23:02 #

Review this product

A great programme I have used for 10 years or so. Most modern interfaces have icons. Works 100% for functionality, which is making sure the clock on my PC is accurate.

Peppasensei 2007-06-19 21:51:56 #

simple but adequate

I just needed a utility to sync my PC to true time. This very simple performs exquisitely and is exactly synced to UTC

It works! thanks.

Is there a way to set what time Atomic Clock pings the server each day? The help text says that automatic checking happens once a day but does not say when it happens.

Steve Z 2007-04-02 07:38:20 #

So -So Product

Since you cannot check the clock more than once a day, it did not meet my needs at all. It was nice otherwise, but once a day is poor.

John Cruz 2007-03-22 11:14:10 #

Can`t beat the price and... it works, too!

Quick, easy, no fuss installation. My PC system is now constantly updated time-wise and certifiably accurate, without effort.

Davelourie 2007-03-13 11:38:29 #

Atomic Clock Sync

Very simple, non-invasive program to insure computer clock is accurate. Used on previous computer to help set not only computer clock, but also all other clocks in house during time change. I have no problem with having to "Ping" the clock from time, in fact I would prefer to do that versus automatically having the software do it.

whattimeisitreally 2007-03-09 09:42:08 #

please automate more!

I like this well enough, but I wish it would start automatically at start-up and that it would synchronize my clock automatically. Right now, I have to manually open the file and tell it to Ping the world clock to adjust my clock. I don't know whether "Auto Synchronize Daily" will accomplish this or not.

I also wish the display would tell me whether my clock is off from the World Clock. In other words, can it display my computer's time and the World Clock's time, so I can see whether they are in sync, without having to ping the clock?

I have no idea what Unadjusted UTC Bias means.

Ronnie 2007-01-14 12:43:03 #

Very reliable way to have an accurate clock.

decayed.cell 2006-12-11 03:35:47 #

Pretty Good

If there was a function to check that servers were working before trying to ping them... that would be good

Robert Horstmeier 2006-11-27 18:52:22 #

When is now?

The time check is very easy to use and right on the button for
computer time and other time checks.
While I was in the Navy during the Korean war, we used NSS for time
checks for the main ships clocks on the short wave.
One second off in sextant readings is 60 miles. Clocks were checked at
noon every day and we had 3 main ships clocks and a log was kept
for how far they were off of correct time.
NSS was the Washington DC Official USA time.....

Micksturbz 2006-11-15 04:08:32 #

PC time synchronisation

Using Google, I found several freeware downloads available. Atomic Clock Sync was my choice.
I have only used it for 24 hrs but it appears faultless in operation. And it was easy to install.
I rate it 100%

TB 2006-11-15 00:14:53 #

The program works fine as far as I can tell at this point, one day.

FotiosF 2006-06-02 14:03:11 #

What a nice little app !!

One of my computers at home is an old but faithful Win 95 Cyrix. The CMOS battery (capacitor, more like it!) was dead for some time now, so I wanted a way to adjust its clock easily. So, instead of doing it manually day after day, I searched for and found the Atomic Clock Sync!! And that was it, my fellow travellers, my old computer now has always the correct time; as soon as it pings the Atomic Clock time server ( through my ADSL router, voila it knows the correct time and date, not 12:05, 01/01/1980... Thanks again for a job well done!!
